VW Beetle Convertible
We met with the owner after a brief phone call directing her to our premises. When we met up what met us was a heavily marked scrubbed and stained convertible top that smelt of bleach and heavily marked paintwork that had wax packed in everywhere. The interior was unfortunately in the same state and it was also heavily stained and smelled musty and again a strong smell of bleach was present.
We started first on the convertible top which involved the most amount of work I have ever had to put in to renew a top. Multiple hits of just water resulted in a thick foam appearing which we eventually removed after multiple extractions. We followed that with a deep clean using a citrus cleaner and worked it in slowly until all of the staining was removed unfortunately the top had been damaged by who previously worked on it creating a number of holes.
We then turned our attention to the interior and repeated the process of firstly using water and then a citrus cleaner to remove all of the bleach and staining from the seat fabrics and the carpeting.
We then set about thoroughly washing the vehicle and removing any tar and iron deposits from the paintwork and finishing off the decontamination process by using a clay sponge and spray detailer.
We decided to rectify any paint marring scratches and random deep scratches by using Feynlab F100 Heavy Cut and a rotary polisher. This process removes any heavy scratches, marring and random deep scratches allowing us to refine the paintwork to a deep luscious sheen from this iconic design solid paintwork. We finished down the paint work using Feynlab F500 and applied two coats of Krstal Kleen Detail SiStal and topped it off with Krysal Kleen Detail SiCoAt for a super slick finish. .
The interior fabric was coated with Textile and the plastic was renewed using Feynlab Plastic Black such was the damage caused by the previous work.
This was one of the worst jobs we have ever taken in due to the damage caused by someone who didn’t have a clue what they were doing which resulted in a lot of slow methodical work to rectify it all. Proof that it pays to do your homework as this customer was left with a hefty bill.
Experience trumps no knowledge especially in this case. Having the correct knowledge base and the correct stepped out methodical procedures removes any issues and leaves the customer with a quality finish every time!
Another perfectly finished process finished by Brian Spellman AKA “The Boss Of Gloss”.
