BMW 530 E F90

New Shape 530 E, Colm Quinn BMW, Glacier Silver, Electric Vehicle, Stone Chip Repair, Bonnet Chip Removal, Wing Chip Removal, The spec was simple; fill in the chips using a chip repair kit from BMW and to then sand it and blend them in to look like they were never there.

Next up for some quality paint restoration was this new model 530 E. The spec on this was to clean and coat the interior and to fill in the chips on the front bumper and the wings sand them and blend them in.

We performed our usual task of pre washing the vehicle paintwork with a citrus based cleansing agent that safely break down and removes any dirt or grime that may be present which is then washed from the paint. Next a layer of tar remover is applied followed by iron remover to remove any iron deposits that come from being in storage. We allow the iron to be removed but normally apply a second application of iron remover to ensure it has been removed as otherwise it will affect the longevity of the coating being applied. We rewash between each step and finish off using a decontamination sponge and a spray detailer which removed quite a grabby layer of dirt that was embedded in the paint.

We consulted with our local BMW garage Colm Quinn to get the touch in paint chip kit and I was delighted with the colour match. We filled in the colour just below the surface and left enough for a double application of lacquer wet sanded it and then polished these areas along with the rest of the body with Feynlab F500 Medium Cut and F1000 Final to remove any paint defects. 

An even and thick layer of Feynlab Ceramic Lite was applied to the paintwork, side windows and rear windscreen and  allowed to cure before careful removal using a dedicated high GSM microfibre to remove the excess from the paint surface.

Only the best curing technology is employed to ensure that the coating hardens and we use an I.R. lamp for fifteen minutes on each panel at 60 degrees which ensures that the coating has been cured correctly.
