We got a call to go south and polish a the hull section of a boat however after doing a test spot for the owner he decided to polish the 2 top sections to also be polished and coated at the same time. So the challenge was accepted!
We started by fully washing the boat from top to bottom and then started the massive task of polishing the entirety of the boat. As the pictures and videos will show this was no small task as one side of the boat was nearly faded white from what should be a dark blue! Slowly but surely over the next 7 days we brought it back to a brand new state. We then rewashed the boat in preperation of the coating.
Feynlab Hydro was then applied to the boats surface in 4 stages.
Stage Number 1 – I started with stage 1 polishing a primer onto the surface to ensure an excellent “key” was formed for the following stages.
Stage Number 2 – I then moved onto stage 2 the Primer stage which then cures in preperation for the third stage.
Stage Number 3 – This is where the real magic happens! This is the first of the “coatings” known as a basecoat and serves as an excellent starting point for the final stage!
Stage Number 4 – Top Coat is applied to the surface which makes this the final stage which leaves the surface blindingly glossy and also extremely soft and slick to the touch.
The brightwork throughout the boat was polished to an as new state and the coated with Krystal Kleen Detail Revolve X. The side and front windows of the wheel house were coated with Krystal Kleen Detail Hydroglas window coating which will aid for better viewing for whomever will be captaining the boat as the windows will dissapate the water faster.
The interior of the living quarters were deep cleaned and the fabrics were treated to Feynlab Textile and the leather was cleaned with Krystal Kleen Detail Lush Leather and was followed with Feynlab Leather treatment. The interior controls at the captains seat after cleaning were treated with Feynlab Detailer Version 2 and Krystal Kleen Detail Citrus Magic was left with the owner to help with upkeep going forward.
This is one of the biggest projects that I have done so far and one I am extremely proud of. A massive effort of concentration, skill, focus and determination left the owner with a new looking boat. Many thanks to the owner for their hospitality for the week I was there.
